The British Parliament approved Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s plan for Brexit, the 2016 referendum for Britain to leave the European Union.

The bill for Brexit was voted on by 358 MPs, against 234. In the 2016 referendum, the UK voted by 52% to 48% to leave the EU

The draft law on Brexit approved by parliamentarians also foresees that the transitional period will not be extended beyond 2020. Clearing the way for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union on Jan. 31, 2020. The U.K. has agreed to pay the EU and an arrangement aimed at avoiding a physical border in Ireland

The bill on the Brexit Treaty will continue to be debated in Parliament on January 7-9, when MPs return to work after Christmas.
