The recent increase in murders recorded in London has allowed the British capital, in February and March, to overtake New York at the number of murders committed, according to official statistics.

Since the beginning of the year, the London police have been investigating 46 killings compared to 50 in New York. It is worth mentioning that the number of murders in New York since the end of January has decreased, and in London it has increased significantly.

It is reported that in January the London police investigated eight murders, while the New York police – on February 18th in New York, this number fell to 11 and London increased to March 15. In London, 22 assassination attempts were carried out and 21 in New York.

Data from the New York Police Department and London Police, published by The Sunday Times and the BBC, show that the difference in the number of murders in the two cities with similar populations is decreasing.

It is particularly worrying that there has been an increase in crimes committed by a knife in London. Nevertheless, the London police emphasize that he „remains one of the safest cities in the world.”
